Bishop Dr. Alvin R. Bailey was born September 25, 1957 in Kingston. He said yes to Jesus on the 15th January 1977 and was baptized in May 1977.

He is married to Vivette with two beautiful daughters Antoinette and Andrean.

He is a graduate of the Columbia Theological Seminary Atlanta, USA where he completed his Doctoral studies in Ministries,.

He is also a graduate of the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology and holds a Masters in the Caribbean Ministries.  Additionally, he is a graduate of the University of Technology and the Haggai Institute in singapore.

He has distinguished himself as an outstanding  national Director of Evangelism for his denomination.  He is a gifted evangelist who specializes in, New Church Development and personal evangelism using Evangelism Explosion. 

He has served as assistant Pastor of the Bethune Avenue Church from 1987 to March 1996 when he headed a team to plant and assume the Pastorate of the Portmore Holiness Church. He is now the Bishop of the Holiness Christian Denomination. 

He has served a number of organizations including the Portmore Ministers’ Fraternal and Portmore Citizens Advisory Council and sits on Boards and has been advisor to a number of Agencies and Organizations. He is well known because he was co-founder and co-host of the JAE Youth Commission’s highly rated radio programme,‘Focus on Youth’ on LOVE FM.
